Funny Sassy

Friday, January 29

If a little girl turns 8 and is on winter vacation and none of her friends are there to celebrate with her, did she really turn 8?  According to my recently turned 8 year old, the answer is no.  But last weekend, we remedied that.  We welcomed 6 of her closest friends for an afternoon of pampering and fun in the salon at our local mall.

Everyone had a great time picking out just the right designs and colors for their nails and getting their hair twisted and twirled and bejewled just like a princess.  They each took a turn making a sugar scrub for their hands and while they were waiting their turn, just spending some quality time together.  It was a nice change from the chaos of the big birthday parties of the past.

MadHatter declared this one of her best days ever.

Success!

The salon was ready to go, and so was MadHatter.

Picking just the right color.

These guys got their hair done (above), while they (below) got there nails painted...

And because ther were only 3 stations that could handle 6 of the girls at one time, we needed something that could occupy the other 2, so I brought in supplies to make a sugar scrub for their hands...

And then we all switched places, again and again, until we all looked like we were ready for the school dance...

The natives were getting restless, so it was time to gather them for cake.  And silly pictures...

8 beautiful girls!
MadHatters cake (her name was on it...)

BFF's. Truly.
