Snowshoeing is one of my favorite winter day activities. There is a peacefulness and sense of solitude that comes with walking through the woods, hearing only the crunch of the snow beneath your feet. Except when you take two little girls with you...then there is nothing peaceful about it. But that is ok, because it is much more fun to be giggling and playing alongside them...
We began our walk with Grampa leading the way...
But that lasted about 2 seconds and the girls had taken over...
About 5 minutes in, it started snowing. Which meant we needed to stop for a photo op...
And to drink some snow because we had worked up a thirst in that 100 yards....
We whacked our way through he bramble...
And followed the path into the woods...
Over the bridge(s)...
and through the woods...
back to Grandmothers Nana's house we walked...
We stopped to play...
and we played without stopping...
and then we just plain stopped for a minute to enjoy our surroundings...
When we made it back to the Nordic Center, we spied the huge sledding hill and free sleds. Who could resist a few runs on that???
Even I couldn't resist...
We had so much fun, we took Nana out with us just a few days later, and shared our crazy, zany antics with her...
She got in on the fun too. We joke that this is Nana and Grampa's latest house purchase; we kid because they just moved into their new house 3 months ago, and are now selling it and moving into their new, new house...
