With Valentines Day on the horizon and a rare few hours free on a Saturday afternoon, we made a quick decision to take the girls (and their friend B) to the Lennon Wall to draw, scribble and generally just vandalize. No one call the cops just yet - this is one place where spray paint, permanent markers and an artistic bent are welcomed. In fact, I would say it is almost imperative.
The Lennon Wall. In the 1980's it became a blank slate for the young people of Prague to write their grievances with the political situation of the times. The movement these students followed was described as Lennonism and, to say the least, irritated the communist government. The wall is covered in grafitti spouting the ideals of love and peace and is possible because of the Knights of Malta, who own it.
In November of 2014, the 25th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution, the wall was painted a stark white, with only the words, "Wall is Over" painted on it. Somehow, I don't think that sentiment is accurate. See for yourself...

We still had an hour or so before we needed to meet B's parents and brothers for dinner so we headed off to see the creepy (get it? they are crawling so they are creepy. In more ways than one) babies. These freak me out in a way I can't really explain...

Suddenly it was time to catch the tram to a fabulous restaurant, to have dinner with one of our favorite families here in Prague. All in all a Saturday afternoon I won't soon forget! Happy Valentine's day everyone!
