An ordinary person, doing ordinary things, extraordinarily.
The very definition of a saint.
And on November 1st, we celebrated all of the saints, known and unknown, at our church. The girls were asked to choose a saint, find out all about them, and then come to their religion class and children's mass dressed like their chosen saint.
MadHatter chose Mary Magdalene. She selected to dress in red (the color she always wore) and carry ointment (that she used to heal Jesus' wounds).
Stinkerbell was St. Lucy - the patron saint of the blind. She wore a crown of light.
We are not allowed in their religion classes, but we are very welcome to the mass afterwards. And this time it was extra special because MadHatter was asked to do the second reading.
The kids did a small parade through the aisle on their way to the alter...
And then MadHatter did her reading...
All of the kids were did such a great job. So proud of all of their hard work on their way to their First Communion.
