Heading Home

Tuesday, December 22

Last year, we stayed in Prague for Christmas and then went to Spain to ring in the New Year.  We try to do it at least once in each new location so that we can get a true feel of what the holiday season is like in our adopted home country.  It is fun, but it is also a bit lonely without family and friends (most have gone to their homes to celebrate with their families).  So this year we made plans in June to head back to Colorado, for a family holiday and all that entails.  Yesterday, we made the 24 hour trek.  It was a long day - a 4 am wake up call, a short flight to London, a 4 hour layover, a 10 hour flight to Denver, and then a 2 hour drive to Breckenridge - but in the end, it was well worth it.  A few snaps of our day of travel...
It started early - and in a strange land from long ago...I think AA needs to update their systems.
Fidget stowed away in Stinkerbells carry on and even brought her favorite coloring book.
See you next year Prague.  It was so early everything was closed and we were the only ones there.

The Harrods Bear.  He can be yours for just over 2400 US.

Festive Carols in Terminal 3.
Seeing as we have never flown from Europe to the US in the winter during the daytime as yet, this was a first for me - The Atlantic Ocean, frozen!  Just off the coast of Greenland.
